Writer: Dibs Barisic ŠpremDibs Barisic Šprem

Last Friday morning I spoke with @kerrygorgone & Chris Brogan on @backpackshowlive ! 🎤

We talked about a lot in the short 30 minutes we had together. They made sure to keep the interview interesting by asking me questions about WHY & HOW I do what I do, as opposed to just the 'what'. I wish we had more time! 😃

You can watch the show on their YouTube page below:

We spoke about:

- what holistic fitness means and why that's important to me

- what are red flags 🚩 to look for when choosing a personal trainer/gym

- what my favourite workout music is 🎶

- and maple syrup 🍁 😂

In this interview, I had the privilege of sharing insights and experiences that shed light on the importance of making fitness accessible to everyone. As most of you know, my mission is to create an inclusive and welcoming fitness environment.

I discussed the transformative power of exercise on not just the body, but on the mind, and on people's lifestyles.

Throughout the interview, I emphasized that fitness should not be limited to a select few but rather be available to everyone, regardless of their background, abilities, or socio-economic status. By sharing some close personal stories, I highlighted how important it is to me that we break down barriers and provide opportunities for marginalized individuals to thrive in the world of fitness.

We talked in a light-hearted way the whole way through. It felt like I had known these two for my entire life! One of the main takeaways was that; by participating in fitness classes, you can experience benefits from boosting self-esteem and fostering mental resilience, to building social connections and combating feelings of isolation.

If you listen to this interview, you will gain valuable insights into the challenges faced by marginalized communities when accessing fitness resources. As well as the strategies and initiatives I have implemented to create an inclusive and empowering fitness environment.

Through our conversation, you will be inspired to rethink the notion of athleticism and understand the transformative potential of making fitness accessible to all.

Whether you are a fitness enthusiast, an advocate for inclusivity, or someone looking for motivation to kickstart your own fitness journey, this interview will provide you with valuable perspectives and actionable takeaways.
